Research & Scholarship
Throughout the CES Ph.D. program, I have done more research than I have ever completed in my life. I have read hundreds of articles, numerous books, and countless types of academic material for classes and other scholarly endeavors. An article I am the first author on is getting published in Human Psychology. I have presented at one in-person conference and two online conferences. I am currently working on my biggest research project yet, my dissertation, which is a qualitative case study on the equine assisted services at Healing Strides of Virginia. I conducted 13 interviews on people in different roles and am completing the the intrinsic case study from the perspectives of those creating and facilitating the equine services since I wanted a different perspective. There are already many studies completed on equine services and their effectiveness from the perspective of those receiving the services, so I wanted to hear about the experiences of those providing the services.
