Leadership & Advocacy
Leadership and advocacy have both been a big part of my life. I have created and led groups, been a teacher, co-founded a school, and been a leader in many classes and life circumstances. I am also a licensed professional counselor. Within these roles, I have advocated for students, parents, administration, teachers, and clients. I also volunteered at the National Center for Healthy Veterans as a mental health therapist working within their equine assisted therapy program and advocating for veterans. I led a round table discussion at SACES in Dallas, and have co-taught classes for my internships. I have also facilitated supervision groups and provided feedback for master’s level classes, as well as led or completed numerous presentations throughout my Ph.D. classes. I am the lead writer on the publication that has recently been accepted by the academic journal, Human Psychology, and I often naturally fall into some type of leadership role. I like to encourage and help others to achieve success in whatever their goals are, and I try to be effective in inspiring people to become the best versions of themselves as I am aiming to do the same, by the grace and strength of God.
